My client who operates within the Civil and Structural Engineering sector are looking for an experienced Principal Civil Engineer in their office in Hemel Hampstead. This highly reputable consultancy offers fantastic flexible working hours and hybrid working options with training and support as well as an excellent benefit and welling package.

The Principal Engineer will be working for an award-winning consultancy that is in a growth stage so the most successful applicant will have the chance to have use their business acumen to push the business even further.

Joining an established team that are involved in Site appraisals, feasibility studies as well as pre-application planning advice, technical support for outline and detailed planning applications and the approval of reserved matters, discharging planning conditions. They are also involved with the production of pre-planning reports, including Flood Risk Assessments, Foul Drainage & Utility Assessment. As well as preparation of detailed, design information for construction



Principal Civil Engineer Job Requirements

  • BSc or BEng qualified within a Civil Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in Civil Engineering design
  • Chartered (or working towards Chartership)
  • Expertise in infrastructure, highways and drainage design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects
  • Run projects from concept, feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction
  • Experience dealing with adoption agreements for roads and drainage
  • Expert in the use of relevant industry-standard design software packages
  • Experience of dealing with clients and other members of the professional team
  • An ability to communicate effectively, writing clear and concise emails, letters and reports
  • A good commercial awareness and experience of managing day to day project finances and instructions
