Location: Hemel Hempstead

Position: Full-time

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Transport Office Manager to oversee our transport operations in Hemel Hempstead for a key client of ours. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the transport office, maintaining compliance with all transport regulations, Checking Infringements, Monitoring driver compliance and manager the drivers welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations within the transport office, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Supervise and support transport staff, including drivers and administrative team members.
  • Oversee scheduling, and resource allocation to optimise efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to transport and logistics.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and liaise with service providers to minimise downtime.
  • Implement health and safety policies, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and prepare operational reports for senior management.
  • Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring high levels of service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transport management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
