Reed Engineering are delighted to be working with an amazing manufacturing company who are seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician to join their highly efficient and friendly warehouse crew. As a key member of their team, you will be instrumental in maintaining and ensuring the efficient operation of machinery on the production floor. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to upholding high standards of safety and quality.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, performing repairs or coordinating with specialised teams as needed.
  • Calibrate machines and instruments to maintain product quality and meet specifications.
  • Ensure prompt response to machine breakdowns to minimise production delays.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and suggest long-term corrective actions.
  • Assist operators in resolving technical issues related to machinery operations.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment repair histories.
  • Follow all safety protocols and lock-out/tag-out procedures during machine servicing.
  • Ensure machinery complies with internal quality and safety standards.
  • Report hazards or unsafe equipment conditions immediately.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow.
  • Communicate clearly about machine conditions and necessary downtime.
  • Assist in training operators on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Recommend upgrades or replacements for outdated or underperforming equipment.
  • Identify ways to improve machine efficiency and reduce waste or energy usage.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or technical certification in mechanical/electrical maintenance or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in machinery maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of flammable liquids is beneficial but not essential.
