Senior Structural Engineer - Hemel Hempstead

Their Structural Engineering team works on an exciting mix of projects in commercial, residential, R&D and energy sectors, covering both new builds and complex refurbishments.

You'll collaborate with in-house specialists in civil engineering, transport, building surveying and geomatics, creating a dynamic environment that fosters technical growth and professional development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer who is proactive, technically skilled and eager to make an impact. You'll lead challenging projects, mentor junior team members and deliver creative, high-quality structural solutions. What You'll Be Doing

  • Take ownership of technical delivery for structural engineering projects, including financial and project management aspects.
  • Collaborate closely with your team and report to the Project Director.
  • Represent the business professionally in meetings with architects, clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including health and safety.
  • Assess sustainability and environmental impact throughout project stages.

Requirements

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven post-qualification experience in structural design.
  • Ability to design in all conventional materials and experience with refurbishment projects.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide strategic design advice.
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative team player with commercial awareness.
