The Role:
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will help guide children through their transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. You’ll deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence, while supporting every child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the KS1 national curriculum

  • Support pupils as they build upon early literacy and numeracy skills

  • Foster a nurturing, positive classroom environment with clear routines and expectations

  • Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform planning

  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers to support home learning

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to school improvement

  • Take part in school events, CPD, and enrichment activities

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience in KS1 or EYFS (Year 1 experience desirable but not essential)

  • Good knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and early phonics development

  • A caring, proactive approach to classroom teaching and behaviour management

  • Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
