Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead, currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Lead to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time teaching position with additional responsibility for leading the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The school provides a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and develop a love of learning. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the early years provision and supporting the ongoing development of staff and pupils in the phase.

Job Description:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Teach within the Early Years classroom, modelling outstanding practice and supporting colleagues.
  • Oversee assessment and progress tracking, using observation and data to inform planning.
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to develop the Early Years strategy.
  • Ensure the learning environment is inclusive, creative, and supports the needs of all learners.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to support children’s development.
  • Contribute to transition processes into Reception and from Reception to Year 1.

Our Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience in Early Years education.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and early child development.
  • Be passionate about high-quality early years provision and inclusive education.
  • Be an excellent communicator with leadership potential or experience in leading a team.
  • Be reflective, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check.
