About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic General Science Teacher to join a dedicated and growing Science department at a vibrant secondary school in Hatfield. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to inspire students and share your love of science across all key stages. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator, ready to support students in developing their scientific knowledge and inquiry skills, while fostering a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
-Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 experience is a plus).
-Ensure that students develop a strong understanding of scientific principles and concepts, covering all three science disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
-Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students, from those requiring additional support to high achievers.
-Foster a hands-on, interactive approach to learning, encouraging students to develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
-Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and regular updates to parents.
-Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum, ensuring it is stimulating and in line with current best practices.
-Participate in extracurricular activities that support student learning, such as Science clubs or after-school revision sessions.
-Work closely with other Science staff and colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning across the school.
About You:
-A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
-A strong background in teaching General Science, with the ability to teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
-A genuine passion for Science and a desire to inspire the next generation of scientists.
-Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable).
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and communicate complex scientific ideas in an accessible way.
-Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
-A commitment to professional development and improving teaching practices.
