Full-Time | Long-Term | Primary & Secondary Schools | September Start

About the Role:

We are currently offering several exciting opportunities for Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) across both Primary and Secondary schools in Watford. These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with a range of learning needs and helping them succeed academically and personally. Whether your background is in Primary or Secondary education, we have roles to match your experience and interests.

As an LSA, you’ll collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students, ensuring they are fully engaged in the classroom and able to access the curriculum effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs

  • Deliver one-on-one and small group support, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and emotional wellbeing

  • Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons

  • Build strong, trusting relationships to help students grow in confidence and independence

  • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual needs

  • Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with teaching staff

  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Prior experience supporting children or young people, preferably in a school setting

  • A calm, patient, and compassionate approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Good understanding of SEN and inclusive educational practices

  • Flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
