Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a successful secondary school in the Hemel Hempstead area.

The school supports students with autism spectrum disorder and speech, language, and communication needs. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role:

  • Provide targeted support to students with ASD and speech and language difficulties in both mainstream classes and small-group settings.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning plans and differentiation strategies.
  • Encourage students' independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCo, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support and progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with young people, ideally within an educational or SEN setting.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Be adaptable, reliable, and committed to inclusive education.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or be willing to undertake appropriate training.
