Accounts Assistant

The RoleOur client, a well-established and growing independent accountancy firm based in Henfield, West Sussex, is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their professional and friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with AAT Level 2 (or equivalent) to develop their accountancy career, with full support available to continue studying towards further AAT levels or ACCA.

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end and management accounts
  • Support with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and client reconciliations
  • Liaise with clients to gather and clarify financial data
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records and documentation
  • Use accounting software to manage client accounts efficiently
  • Work as part of a close-knit team with supervision and training
  • Participate in internal training and receive support for further exams
  • Attend to Companies House and HMRC documentation and deadlines
  • Contribute to process improvement and client service standards
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail

RequirementsAAT Level 2 (or equivalent) is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, good communication skills, and a desire to build a career in accountancy. Prior experience in a finance or practice environment is highly desirable. This role offers full study support for those wishing to continue their AAT qualifications or progress to ACCA.This role could suit someone who has worked as an accounts assistant, bookkeeper, or junior accountant.
