Role Purpose:
Join our dynamic steel fabrication team at VGC as a Skilled Operative. You will be responsible for operating both CNC and manual machinery safely and efficiently to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC and manual equipment to fabricate steelwork.
- Work collaboratively within the Fabrication, Bundling & Overhead Line Stores area.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to risk assessments and work instructions.
- Produce high-quality products in line with our Quality Management System.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help reduce waste.
- Perform general duties to support all operations as required.
Essential Qualities & Experience:
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a 'can do' approach.
- Reliable and supportive of a continuous improvement culture.
- Willingness to learn and embrace new ideas.
- Ability to work as part of a team and be self-motivated.
- Proficiency with air and electric hand tools, grinders, etc.
- Ability to read drawings and complete relevant documentation.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety practices.
Desirable Qualities & Experience:
- Experience in a steel fabrication environment.
- Experience with CNC/manual machinery.
- Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and telehandlers.
- Computer literacy for reading stock sheets.

Based in Hereford remuneration for this role is £15 per hour, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
