Automation Design Engineer

Monday to Friday (8am - 4.30pm)

£50000 - £55000

The Role
You’ll be in the thick of it. Designing, programming, troubleshooting, and improving automation systems. You’ll collaborate with smart, driven teams to make sure our operations run smoother, faster, and smarter. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager and work Monday to Friday - but the impact you’ll have? Big.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain automation control systems: PLC programming, control panels, the works

  • Keep our industrial processes under control with real-time monitoring systems

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and improve production

  • Solve problems others can’t, troubleshoot systems, and keep things moving

  • Train operators and maintenance teams to be as effective as possible

  • Keep everything safe, compliant, and top-quality

 

What We’re Looking For

  • HNC or degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation preferred)

  • Strong PLC programming and HMI experience

  • Familiarity with industrial networks and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP)

  • Problem solver. Thinker. Doer. Team player. Communicator.
