Job Brief

Assisting the authority in identifying, assessing and reviewing young people with Additional Needs and their subsequent provision

Providing consultation, advice, support, assessment and intervention to schools and colleagues on the educational, psychological, social, emotional and mental health needs of children and young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities

Providing support on an ad-hoc but consistent basis, in line with the Local Authority's needs

You will be working in an integrated practice framework and as part of Integrated Services for Learning. This will involve sessions with young people, parents, carers, and families in diverse settings providing robust, reflective, informed, and inclusive educational psychology support.

To be a leading Educational Psychologist able to apply psychology across work at systemic, decision making, and casework levels. This includes remaining informed about contemporary professional developments and promoting evidence and research-based knowledge across individuals, team and service practice.

To ensure Educational Psychology services are delivered in accordance with agreed quality standards, and to develop robust local quality assurance mechanisms consistent with EPS policy and practice.

To ensure appropriate support and challenge is provided to schools and settings on meeting the needs of children and young people.
