Development Manager (Adults)

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week

Starting salary: £32,030 per annum

Hessle, Hybrid working role

Active Humber is committed to promoting physical activity and sports across the Humber region. Our vision for the Humber is that it is a place where everyone, every day is physically active.

Could you be a driving force in improving adult wellbeing, through physical activity in the Humber?

We are look for a motivated individual to lead and coordinate initiatives that support adults—especially those facing health, social, or economic inequalities—to become more physically active. Key to the role is the ability to develop partnerships to increase regular participation in physical activity and sport by adults, particularly those that may face challenges or barriers.

As part of the development team, you will work closely with communities to understand local needs and opportunities.  This includes supporting training, insight gathering, and identifying investment opportunities to grow and sustain local programmes.  As the lead on adult well-being, you will also act as the adult safeguarding lead, working with organisations such as the Ann Craft Trust to inform this area of work.

The successful candidate will have experience designing and delivering programmes in physical activity, sport, health, or community development.  You will understand the challenges faced by inactive adults and those from underrepresented groups and be confident managing projects, tracking outcomes, and evaluating impact.

We offer hybrid working for a better work-life balance, along with a generous annual leave allowance.  You will be expected to attend our workspace in Hessle, at least once a week.

Closing date:  Tuesday 10th June 2025 (5pm)
