Job Description:
As a Health and Safety Senior Specialist, you will support the health and safety management team to ensure compliance with legislation and promote a strong safety culture across the business. Your main focus will be on delivering expert guidance, conducting investigations, and improving workplace safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing competent advice on all aspects of health and safety including CDM activities
 - Supporting the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses
 - Developing and reviewing risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and work instructions
 - Monitoring accident statistics, identifying trends, and producing reports
 - Liaising with internal departments, regulatory authorities, and external training providers
 - Organising and assisting with internal and external health and safety training
 - Conducting audits and inspections
 - Supporting ISO accreditation efforts and permit-to-work compliance
 - Providing guidance and mentoring to other team members and placement students
 - Contributing to health and safety committee meetings and departmental improvement initiatives
 
Skills & experience:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (required)
 - NEBOSH Fire Certificate (preferred)
 - Working towards NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
 - Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 - Strong organisational and time-management abilities
 - IT proficiency including Microsoft Office
 - Full UK driving license
