Rochdale Council are looking for a Full-Time Administrator to join their Environmental Management Service for a three-month period. This role is integral to handling complaints and managing various aspects of environmental services, providing technical and business support under the supervision of the Business Support Manager.
Day-to-day of the role:- Handle complaints and provide resolutions in a timely and effective manner.
- Undertake a variety of business and technical support functions as directed by the Business Support Manager.
- Manage data input, retrieval, and maintenance of environmental management records, both electronic and paper.
- Assist in the procurement of goods and services, including ordering stationery.
- Ensure high data quality across all environmental management records.
- Prepare and collate information for financial processes such as incoming payments for central banking.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of data for Service Key Performance Indicators.
- Perform administrative tasks including word processing, logging customer/member queries, and managing vehicle hire and MOT for taxi drivers.
- Act as the main customer contact at Green Lane Reception, both in person and by telephone.
- Use ICT systems to complete duties, including Microsoft Word for typing letters and Excel for spreadsheets.
- Prepare routine correspondence and keep service information up to date.
- Monitor levels of office consumables and manage inventories.
- Process orders and invoices, ensuring timely payments within the Council’s targets.
- Assist with the preparation of Sundry Debtors Accounts and interservice recharges.
- Assist in the reconciliation of cash income and prepare for banking.
- Proven experience in administrative roles, ideally within a public sector environment.
- Strong ability to handle complaints and provide effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in environmental services or a similar field is advantageous.
