We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work within an educational provision for children in care. The role would suit an engaging, innovative and adaptable individual, who is able to provide a supportive and nurturing approach to education.

This Teaching Assistant position is full time from Monday to Friday, during school term time only and will be on a long-term contract with a prospect of a permanent contract with the school. A full and detailed induction will be provided to the successful Teaching Assistant as well as regular training, to ensure you have everything you need to succeed.

The students you will be supporting as a Teaching Assistant have a have a mixture of needs and some, not all of the students have an EHCP. You should expect to deal with challenging behaviour and ideally have some experience of dealing with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH). Although the students all have different needs, they all have one thing in common, they are unable to attend mainstream school. As such you will be working as a Teaching Assistant in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, providing an essential education for these students.

This educational provision is dedicated to offering a supportive and deeply therapeutic setting, while maintaining a strong focus on delivering a high-quality academic experience for all students. The successful Teaching Assistant will play a key role in reinforcing this therapeutic approach and ensuring that students consistently learn in a nurturing and caring environment.
