We are seeking a Care Home Chef to join our small, friendly residential care home in High Wycombe, which provides high-quality care to elderly residents, including those living with dementia.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys home-style cooking, menu planning, and creating nutritious meals that cater to individual dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents, including special diets (e.g., diabetic, soft foods, low salt)

  • Develop weekly menus in consultation with residents and care staff

  • Order and manage food stock efficiently, working within a set budget

  • Ensure the kitchen meets health and safety and food hygiene standards at all times

  • Maintain accurate records of temperatures, cleaning schedules, and food orders

  • Work closely with care staff to support residents' preferences, allergies, and nutritional needs

  • Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and welcoming

Requirements:
  • Experience as a chef or cook, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or school kitchen

  • Knowledge of elderly nutrition and dementia-friendly meal presentation

  • Ability to work independently, plan ahead, and stay calm under pressure

  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above)

  • Flexible approach to shift patterns and weekend availability

  • Strong communication and organisational skills
