Automotive Test and Development Engineer, Coventry, Warwickshire, Leicestershire

  • Automotive Test and Development Engineer role delivering whole vehicle performance, durability, and corrosion test projects.
  • Initial 6-month contract, inside IR35 contract, up to £35.00 per hour.
  • Role would suit an Automotive Engineer with experience of whole vehicle or system level testing.


Are you an Automotive Engineer or Performance & Durability Engineer or Automotive Development Engineer or Vehicle Test Engineer with experience of delivering whole vehicle or system level test projects?


Do you want to work within an industry leading vehicle attributes team on a diverse range of whole vehicle / automotive performance, durability, and corrosion test projects for global automotive / vehicle manufacturers?


Your background as an Automotive Test and Development Engineer:


  • You will have gained whole vehicle or system level test experience. Any specific performance and/or durability testing experience would be advantageous.
  • A good general and practical understanding of vehicle systems.
  • Experience of using data acquisition tools and performing data analysis and reporting.
  • You will hold a relevant qualification (HND or Degree) in a mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or similar discipline.
  • You will need to have a clean full UK driving licence.


Automotive Test and Development Engineer Responsibilities:


  • Deliver specialist automotive test projects including performance/high speed, durability and corrosion from the start through to final reporting.
  • Manage test schedules and timing plans.
  • Lead the installation and management of test instrumentation.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Technicians and Test Drivers.
  • Lots of opportunity to work directly with customers (industry leading vehicle manufacturers and early-stage vehicle technology developers).


This job is commutable from Coventry, Leicester, Rugby, Solihull, Birmingham, Northampton, Tamworth, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Loughborough, Swadlincote, and surrounding areas.
