Are you a compassionate and proactive individual with a passion for supporting children with behavioural challenges?

Aspire People are looking for an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in a primary school in Hinckley. In this role, you will be providing 1:1 support to a child who requires assistance in managing their behaviour and improving their attention span in class.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be working closely with a child who faces challenges with behaviour and attention. Your main responsibility will be helping the child manage and regulate their behaviour in the classroom, ensuring that they are able to focus and participate in lessons. You will work with the child on a personalised plan, helping them develop positive behaviours and coping strategies.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 support to a child with behavioural difficulties, focusing on improving attention and managing behaviour

Using de-escalation techniques to help the child stay calm and engaged in lessons

Implementing personalised behaviour strategies to encourage positive outcomes and emotional regulation

Supporting the child with social skills development and fostering positive relationships with peers

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed

Helping the child feel more confident and included in classroom activities

Recording observations and progress and providing feedback to the teaching team

Requirements:

Previous experience working in a UK school, ideally in a behaviour or SEN role

Experience supporting children with behaviour challenges, ideally in a 1:1 capacity

Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies

A calm, empathetic approach and the ability to remain patient in challenging situations

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A proactive attitude and the ability to think on your feet to support the child effectively
