If you’re the type of HSE professional who hides behind paperwork, this won’t be for you.
This site wants someone visible. Someone who can walk the floor, spot the gaps, call things out, and bring people with them. They’re growing, investing and tightening up standards- but they need a coordinator who actually makes things happen, not just updates a SharePoint folder.
The role in a nutshell:
You’ll be the right hand to the HSE Manager, helping set the pace on safety, environment and sustainability.
You’ll coach supervisors, challenge contractors, fix weak processes and turn “we’ve always done it this way” into something safer and smarter.
And you’ll be part of a team that actually listens- not one that files your audits in a drawer.
What you’ll own:
-
Driving a positive, confident safety culture across a busy FMCG site
-
Supporting managers to set realistic targets (and making sure they hit them)
-
Audits, investigations, improvements-Â not box-ticking, genuine accountability
-
Maintaining ISO 45001 & 14001 standards that mean something, not just pass an audit
-
Contractor control: approvals, RAMS checks, inductions, and making sure they’re actually working safely
-
Building solid risk assessments and safe systems of work
-
Getting involved in sustainability projects that go further than “turn the lights off”
-
Walking the floor daily-Â talking, challenging, coaching
What they need from you:
-
NEBOSH as a minimum
-
Solid understanding of ISO 45001 & 14001
-
Someone who can influence up, down and sideways-Â without drama
-
Confident enough to challenge, smart enough to collaborate
-
Member of IOSH/IEMA helpful, but mindset matters more
-
Organised, curious and not afraid to say, “This isn’t good enough — here’s what we’re doing.”
What’s in it for you?
A site on the up. A manager who backs you. A team that actually wants to do things better.
And proper development- not the usual “maybe next year” conversation.
If you’re ready for a role where your work gets seen, used and appreciated, drop me a message. Let’s talk.
