Role Overview

We're looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support the Purchasing and Production teams in ensuring materials are delivered on time and accurately recorded within the ERP system. The role involves managing supplier order books, updating delivery information, and maintaining clear communication across departments to support smooth production planning.

Key Responsibilities as a Purchasing Assistant

  • Maintain the supplier order book and ensure delivery dates are accurately reflected in the ERP system.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm order status, chase overdue items, and resolve delivery issues.
  • Communicate delays or material shortages to Purchasing, Sales, and Production teams.
  • Support planning by providing accurate material availability and kit dates.
  • Handle material pull-forward requests and assist Accounts with invoice queries.
  • Keep ERP data accurate and up to date.
  • Carry out general administrative and purchasing support as required.

Skills & Experience as a Purchasing Assistant

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (ERP 123 or similar preferred).
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and related quality standards.
  • Strong communication and supplier relationship skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
