We have an exciting opportunity for a Database& Systems Administrator to work and be part of a very ambitious and forward-thinking UK Manufacturer, based in Hoddesdon.This role requires overseeing the products and systems updates and development for the whole company. This role offers a salary of £32,000-£40,000 (pro rata for part-time) depending on experience and the hours are negotiable as our client would consider either full-time or part-time hours.
Role & Responsibilities:
System Control & Data Management
- Develop a strong understanding of the OGL (Profit Plus) system and identify opportunities for operational efficiency and automation.
- Maintain accurate and consistent product data across all platforms including OGL, spec sheets, technical files, design documents, and website databases.
- Conduct regular audits to identify and eliminate obsolete product codes and redundant data entries.
- Ensure all systems are maintained to a high standard, ready for seamless migration to a new ERP system upon hitting £12M revenue threshold.
Pricing Integrity
- Implement and manage a rolling 6-month pricing review program in coordination with Procurement, ensuring data accuracy within the system.
- Liaise with suppliers to track current costs and project future pricing impacts.
- Execute a one-time system-wide cleanup of outdated pricing codes and irrelevant SKUs.
- Organise and centralise all SKU documentation (specs, drawings, certificates)
New Product Development (Systems Focus)
- Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and CAD teams to structure and record all new product data within the system.
- Assist in the technical setup of BOMs, part numbers, test results, and sampling records for new or modified products.
- Ensure product features, benefits, and USP data are accurately stored and shared with the Marketing team.
New Product Setup & Launch Administration
- Manage the full system-side onboarding of new third-party and manufactured products.
- Vet certifications and technical specs for compliance and accuracy.
- Support the standardised 4-week launch process with timely and accurate system input across departments.
- Act as a central point for product data integrity, including BOMs, pricing, and system documentation.
Skills & Attributes:
- Previous experience in database administration or systems management, ideally in a product or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of MRP/ERP systems
- Data cleansing experience
- Familiarity with OGL (Profit Plus) ERP system (highly desirable).
- Strong technical understanding of product lifecycle management and data flows.
- High attention to detail with a systematic and methodical working style.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Excellent team player who can liaise across departments and meet tight deadlines.
