Residential Support Worker

Join an independent Children's Home providing essential support, care, and guidance. The home is registered to provide support for children and young people who have emotional, complex, social and behavioural needs. This role is integral to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and to thrive. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other professionals.
  • Promote and teach key life skills and appropriate behaviours
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of residents' progress to support planning and team collaboration.
  • Ensure the safety of children at all times.
  • Participate in shift work on a 24-hour pattern, covering weekends and bank holidays.
  • Engage in regular supervision, team meetings, and required training sessions to continually improve service quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Resilience and motivation with a calm, approachable, and adaptable demeanour.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • IT literacy and ability to follow written instructions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is desirable, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and adults is preferred, though not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
