The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Site Manager to join our dynamic Building Division, contributing to the successful delivery of a prestigious £100 million residential and mixed-use development in the heart of Leeds. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take a lead role in the on-site management of the project, ensuring all works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, health and safety, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and manage all on-site construction activities in alignment with project schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Act as a key liaison between the client, design team, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, maintaining open and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee and guide subcontractor performance, ensuring work is carried out to specification, on time, and within agreed cost parameters.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain compliance with design, specification, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain all site-related documentation including drawings, method statements, risk assessments, and progress reports.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate site teams, supporting personal and professional development while driving high performance and team cohesion.
  • Promote continuous improvement across site operations, implementing lean construction techniques and innovative solutions where appropriate.

Candidate Profile – Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior Site Manager or similar leadership role within the construction industry, preferably with large-scale residential or mixed-use projects.
  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site logistics.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage and inspire diverse teams.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work packages and subcontractors simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of project management and construction software (e.g., Asta, MS Project, Viewpoint, or similar).
  • Relevant industry qualifications and certifications, including:
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) – Black or White Card
  • First Aid at Work
