Role Overview

- Job Title: Project E&I Engineer

- Location: Holmes Chapel, Cheshire (site-based)

- Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

 

This is a full-time, on-site role due to the hands-on nature of the work.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver electrical, instrumentation, and automation (E&I) projects across the site.

- Contribute to the development of the site’s E&I strategy to enhance reliability, compliance, and efficiency.

- Provide technical guidance to the maintenance team and contractors.

- Support project leads with installation and commissioning of plant equipment and system upgrades.

- Ensure all E&I systems comply with UK safety and regulatory standards.

- Manage small to medium projects, including automation improvements, control system upgrades, and equipment replacements.

- Assist with routine maintenance planning, updating procedures, and preventive maintenance schedules.

 

Experience & Qualifications

- Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.

- 5+ years’ experience in E&I roles within regulated or process-driven industrial environments.

- Proven ability to manage maintenance and engineering projects, including budgets.

- Knowledge of UK electrical regulations, industrial control systems, and functional safety.

- Experience with contractor management, permit-to-work systems, and site safety leadership.

- Familiarity with CMMS systems and engineering drawings (e.g., AutoCAD).

- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

- Eligible to work full-time in the UK without sponsorship.
