Responsibilities:
As an Material Handling Operator, you will:
- Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
- Load and unload materials efficiently and accurately
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Follow safety protocols and procedures diligently
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any issues
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Valid forklift and material handling certifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment
- Strong understanding of safety practises and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Experience with automated material handling systems
- Knowledge of inventory management systems
- Previous experience in a dock or shipping environment
- Basic troubleshooting skills for handling equipment
Technologies:
- Forklifts (Counterbalance and Reach)
- Pallet jacks
- Warehouse management software (WMS)
- Safety and operational equipment
