An excellent opportunity awaits an experienced Financial Controller to join a family-run business near Honiton on a part-time, permanent basis. This exciting opportunity is offered on either a 3 or 4 days per week basis.

In this role, you will oversee the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and providing strategic financial insight to support growth and profitability. The position involves financial management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
• Analyse financial performance and prepare timely reports for decision-making.
• Maintain financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Work with managers to review performance, costs, and marketing ROI; produce KPIs.
• Monitor budgets, conduct variance analysis, and recommend cost-saving strategies.
• Prepare regular financial statements and reports adhering to accounting standards.
• Manage cash cycle by overseeing debtors, creditors, and inventory.
• Present insights and financial updates to senior management, supporting budgeting processes.
• Handle tax planning, ensure compliance, and liaise with auditors for smooth audit processes.
• Identify financial risks and implement controls to mitigate them.
• Keep up-to-date with tax laws and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

The Candidate:

• Experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within a family business.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications like CIMA/ACA/ACCA desirable.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Proficient with financial software and advanced Excel skills.
• Sharp analytical, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communicator who collaborates well across teams.
