Are you a hands-on individual with a passion for supporting creative learning in Design and Technology? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and skilled Design Technology Technician to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the East Devon area from September.

As a key part of the Design Technology department, you’ll assist in preparing and maintaining materials, tools, and equipment to support engaging practical lessons. This temp-to-perm role offers the chance to become an integral part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team committed to delivering outstanding education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare resources and materials for DT lessons, including woodwork, metalwork, electronics, and graphic products.

  • Maintain and ensure the safe operation of tools, machinery, and equipment.

  • Assist teaching staff during practical sessions where required.

  • Support students in using equipment safely and effectively.

  • Manage stock levels and place orders for materials and tools.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience in a similar role or relevant technical background.

  • Possess a good understanding of workshop tools and machinery.

  • Be proactive, organised, and safety-conscious.

  • Have strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude.

  • Be committed to supporting students and enhancing the learning environment.

  • Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and other relevant safeguarding checks.
