Job Title: Design Technology Technician

Are you a hands-on individual with a passion for supporting creative learning in Design and Technology? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and skilled Design Technology Technician to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the East Devon area from September.
As a key part of the Design Technology department, you’ll assist in preparing and maintaining materials, tools, and equipment to support engaging practical lessons. This temp-to-perm role offers the chance to become an integral part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team committed to delivering outstanding education.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare resources and materials for DT lessons, including woodwork, metalwork, electronics, and graphic products.

Maintain and ensure the safe operation of tools, machinery, and equipment.

Assist teaching staff during practical sessions where required.

Support students in using equipment safely and effectively.

Manage stock levels and place orders for materials and tools.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous experience in a similar role or relevant technical background.

Possess a good understanding of workshop tools and machinery.

Be proactive, organised, and safety-conscious.

Have strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude.

Be committed to supporting students and enhancing the learning environment.

Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and other relevant safeguarding checks.
