Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm

Salary: £32,(Apply online only) - £34,(Apply online only) per annum

Main Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of this role is to prepare, spray, and finish Conquip stock and repair work to the highest standards. This includes ensuring durability, correct finish, and full compliance with customer specifications and business quality requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Select and mix paint to match specifications, using correct ratios and application methods.
  • Prepare the spray booth for each job, including cleaning, masking, and arranging workpieces.
  • Carry out frequent colour changeovers and spray items of varying sizes, shapes, and materials.
  • Ensure correct paint thickness, gloss levels, and even coverage on all products.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, degreasing, masking, or applying primers as required.
  • Apply undercoats, topcoats, and protective finishes in accordance with technical datasheets.
  • Conduct a final inspection of painted components before despatch or assembly.
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of spray guns, compressors, and booth philtres.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Operate forklift trucks and overhead cranes safely (training provided if required).
  • Support other workshop activities as directed by the Workshop Manager during quieter periods.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the immediate working area and contribute to overall workshop cleanliness.

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload without constant supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
