We are currently seeking a reliable and flexible Driver/Facilities Assistant to join a small team for a professional organisation located on the outskirts of Basingstoke. The Driver/Facilities Assistant will be responsible for transporting goods, samples, and passengers in company vehicles, as well as supporting general facilities and maintenance tasks around the premises.

Basic working hours are Monday to Friday, 37½ hours per week, 7½ hours per day, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm inclusive of one-hour lunch break. However, you will be required to work additional overtime hours on the Driver’s rota (currently one week in three), covering bank/public holidays, weekends, and evening hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive company vehicles as required, including transporting passengers (chauffeur duties), goods, fluids, and samples
  • Clean and maintain company vehicles
  • Assemble, pack, and dispatch sample kits
  • Arrange courier collections and deliveries
  • Assist with moving incoming deliveries and outgoing dispatch items
  • Support the safe disposal of samples and general waste
  • Perform light maintenance tasks and assist with basic facilities upkeep
  • Carry out general housekeeping duties across the site
  • Ad hoc errands and support tasks as needed

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Presentable with a professional and courteous manner
  • Flexible and methodical approach to work
  • Good communication skills with a reasonable standard of written and spoken English
  • Full, clean UK driving licence with Category B
  • Substantial previous driving experience
  • PC literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

  • Additional driving licence categories (B+E, C1, C1+E)
  • Experience driving in and around London
  • Manual handling experience or training

Additional Information:

  • This role involves manual handling and some lifting
  • A uniform and any necessary safety equipment will be provided
