Pastoral Mentor - Secondary

Location - Horley

Start: ASAP

Contract: 12 weeks temp to perm

Full-time, Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm, Term-time only

Salary: 21,500 - 22,000 per annum

We are seeking enthusiastic and resilient Pastoral Mentor to join a supportive secondary school specialising in social, emotional, and mental health needs. This rewarding Pastoral role offers the chance to make a real difference to young people's lives and will involve you developing trusted relationships with secondary aged pupils.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting teaching, learning, and personal development in small groups and 1:1.
  • Helping students build confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
  • Working inside and outside of the classroom to support emotional development, working to de-escalate and provide support to enable the pupil to engage with their learning.
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored pastoral strategies.
  • Acting as a role model and championing progress for a key group of pupils.

Experience supporting young people in education, care, youth work, medical, community-based roles or social work positions previously would transfer well into this position.
