Join our dedicated team as a Teaching Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 7-11 with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Autism. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a nurturing and dynamic educational environment.
Day-to-day of the role:- Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and enjoy their learning experience.
- Promote and encourage pupils' independence and personal development.
- Support the Class Teacher in the daily management of the class.
- Adapt to the varying and changing needs of the school to ensure smooth operations.
- Engage in activities that promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
- Participate in training sessions as required, including physical intervention training.
- GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Experience working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
- Team TEACH Training (desirable).
- Strong commitment to enhancing the educational experience of children with special needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
