Join our dedicated team as a Teaching Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 7-11 with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Autism. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a nurturing and dynamic educational environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and enjoy their learning experience.
  • Promote and encourage pupils' independence and personal development.
  • Support the Class Teacher in the daily management of the class.
  • Adapt to the varying and changing needs of the school to ensure smooth operations.
  • Engage in activities that promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
  • Participate in training sessions as required, including physical intervention training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
  • Team TEACH Training (desirable).
  • Strong commitment to enhancing the educational experience of children with special needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
