We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join our vibrant English faculty. This role involves carrying out the professional duties of a school teacher as specified in the Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Act, under the guidance of the Head of Faculty and in line with the school's policies and procedures.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach English effectively at Key Stage 3 and 4, ensuring all lessons are engaging, challenging, and accessible for all students.
  • Develop and update programmes of study, materials, and schemes of work in collaboration with the English faculty.
  • Provide a stimulating classroom environment that fosters learning and encourages good working habits among students.
  • Offer tailored intervention for underperforming students and track their progress.
  • Participate in professional development programmes to enhance teaching skills.
  • Engage in the wider school community through extracurricular activities and whole-school initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Honours Level Degree and PGCE or equivalent.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven experience of teaching English in secondary education.
  • Ability to teach all ability groups, meeting the needs of all students, including those with SEND.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and the ability to deliver content effectively up to GCSE level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain student interest and inspire them to achieve their full potential.
