Active Recruitment are working closely with a highly reputable mainstream secondary school in Havering who are seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic teaching professional who can work as part of their dedicated and exceptional team.
As a Head of English you will be expected uphold high standards of student attainment and achievement within the curriculum area, this will include leading, developing and managing the quality of teaching and monitoring and supporting student progress to ensure strong outcomes are attained.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of English:
- Foster leadership growth and provide professional development opportunities for English department staff.
- Collaborate with other departments and senior leaders to support the comprehensive development of all students.
- Inspire, manage, and guide the English department to achieve high academic standards and student success.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and ongoing refinement of the English curriculum.
- Ensure instructional practices are responsive to the varied needs of learners in an alternative education environment.
- Track student achievement, implement targeted interventions, and maintain consistent communication with students and their families.
- Actively contribute to the broader strategic direction of the school and engage as a key member of the leadership team.
