Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and autism?
We are working with a lovely primary school who are looking for an empathetic and committed SEMH TA to support a Year 1 girl on a 1:1 basis. This role is not classroom-based - you'll be working closely with her in a calm and nurturing environment, helping her to build confidence, regulate emotions, and engage positively in learning through tailored support.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 emotional and academic support for a Year 1 pupil with SEMH and autistic traits.
Creating a safe, trusting space to help her feel calm and understood.
Working collaboratively with the SENCO and class teacher to follow her individual learning and behaviour plan.
Using creative, play-based approaches to encourage engagement and build positive relationships.
The Ideal Candidate:
Has experience supporting children with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs.
Is patient, understanding, and confident managing emotional regulation.
Has a nurturing and resilient approach, able to celebrate small wins and progress.
Can work well as part of a supportive SEND team.
If you're passionate about making a genuine difference in a child's life and thrive in a role where you can offer personalised, 1:1 support, we'd love to hear from you.
