ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and qualified Core Subjects Tutor to deliver tailored 1:1 or small group tuition to pupils across the Havering area. This role will involve working with students from Early Years through to GCSE level who require additional academic support, either due to missed education, special educational needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
As a Core Subjects Tutor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised sessions in English, Maths and/or Science, helping to bridge learning gaps and increase student engagement and academic confidence. This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about making a measurable difference outside the traditional classroom setting.
Experience supporting students with SEN or SEMH needs is highly desirable. You will need to be patient, adaptable and resilient in your approach, with a commitment to supporting the wellbeing and educational progression of each learner. Prospero Teaching will provide ongoing support and guidance to help ensure successful outcomes for every pupil you work with.

- Full time/part time - Flexible; both part-time and full-time opportunities available
- Minimum rate of pay - 25 per hour
- Hours - Minimum 1 hour per session, up to 3 hours per session
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (required)
- Experience teaching core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
- Be able to provide two professional references, covering the last two years and relevant to working with children
