Exciting Opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist - Join a Thriving College Group in East LondonWe are proud to be partnering with a highly respected college group in East London to recruit a qualified and passionate Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) for a permanent position within their student support team.This is an excellent opportunity to work in a diverse and inclusive educational environment where your expertise will have a lasting impact on the lives of young people with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.

About the RoleThe successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and work closely with students aged 16+ who have a range of additional learning needs, including autism, social communication difficulties, and other complex profiles. You will also provide dysphagia support, so competency in dysphagia management is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, intervention, and review for students with communication and swallowing needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored therapy plans in line with EHCP targets.
  • Deliver both 1:1 and small group sessions.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, support teams, and external professionals to embed communication-friendly practices.
  • Contribute to staff training and awareness around speech and language strategies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and progress records in line with college and clinical standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration (essential).
  • Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience.
  • Dysphagia trained and competent (essential).
  • Experience working with students with SEND in an educational or clinical setting.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
