We're recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a fast-growing, niche business in the residential tenancy market. The company has carved out a unique position in a high-demand sector, delivering a consumer-focused financial service.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in B2C finance operations and credit control, who can lead a team, manage high volumes, and balance commercial goals with empathetic customer engagement. You'll oversee the end-to-end finance function related to credit control and collections, working to optimise cash flow, minimise bad debt, and ensure compliance with consumer finance regulations.
You'll play a key role in shaping financial processes, reporting to senior leadership, and driving continuous improvement across the finance and customer operations teams.
Responsibilities:
Credit & Collections Oversight
- Manage the full B2C credit control cycle, including aged debt and payment plans.
- Develop and implement financial processes and systems for efficient collections.
- Maintain compliance with consumer finance and debt collection regulations.
Financial Leadership
- Lead and develop the credit control and finance support team.
- Set KPIs, manage performance, and foster a customer-first culture.
- Provide strategic input into financial decision-making and risk management.
Customer-Focused Finance
- Communicate with residential customers via phone, email, and SMS.
- Handle escalated queries with professionalism and care.
- Align finance operations with customer service and support teams.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce reports on collections performance, payment trends, and cash flow.
- Analyse financial data to identify risk and improvement opportunities.
- Support forecasting and liaise with the wider finance team on reconciliations.
Key Skills:
- Experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role (B2C preferred)
- Strong knowledge of credit control and consumer debt regulation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Analytical and systems-savvy (Excel, CRMs, finance software)
- Proven ability to improve cash flow and manage financial risk in high-volume environments
