Integrated Front Door Support Officer

Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: 19 umbrella an hour (14 PAYE an hour)
Location: Horsham (some opportunity to work from home when established)

West Sussex County Council are looking for a Support Officer to join their Integrated Front Door Team, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including police, health, education and social workers.

Responsibilities:
  • Regular contact with people who access or need the service who may present challenging behaviours, and/or subject matter which may be distressing
  • Undertake an initial review of all contact made to the local authority for a request for service for a child or young people and to make an initial recommendation utilising the West Sussex Levels of Need
  • Manage an inbox with support from an Advanced Social Worker
  • Triage incoming requests for support to ensure they are progressed to the most appropriate service
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of all work undertaken

Requirements:
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information in order to complete an initial assessment of the level of need identified
  • Ability to work within a multi-agency setting through gathering and identifying information
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grades 9-4, or A-C) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of providing advice and guidance to others
  • Experience of working under pressure
  • Experience and understanding of identifying a range of interventions in working with children and their families
