Teaching Assistant - SEMH School, Horsham

Academics is looking for a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Horsham. This role is ideal for someone who wants to support young people who face barriers to learning and help them succeed in a supportive, structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students

  • Work closely with school staff and outside professionals to meet individual needs

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people (SEMH or SEN experience preferred)

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
