Joining the Quality Assurance team and reporting to the Quality Manager, the Production Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing QA activity in production. They will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet rigorous quality standards. They will participate in lean initiatives, manage non-conformance material dispositioning, support investigations, and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Quality Control: Check final product and intermediate assembly conformity.
  • Inspection: Oversee and assist the inspection of flagged parts against drawings.
  • Production Auditing: Conduct product and production process audits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support production continuous improvement activity
  • 5S/6S Implementation: Promote the 6S program, carry out audits of production areas and work with production team leaders in driving improvement.
  • Non-Conformance Analysis & Corrective Action: Lead and assist with structured investigations and resolution activities with full documentation and audit alignment.
  • MRB: Own and lead MRB activity.
  • Supplier Quality Review: Request and review Corrective Action reports from suppliers.
  • Metrics & KPI Tracking: Develop, monitor, and report KPIs on production quality control.
  • Prototype & NPI Support: Assist with Manufacturing Readiness Reviews during early build phases for embedded quality.
  • Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Witnessing: Participate in FAT events, verify test results, and provide official sign-off.
  • 8D and Quality Investigation Support: Assist with cross-functional root cause analysis.
  • Calibration: Organise site calibration activity. Oversee and report on cross-site calibration activity.

Skills & Experience
Essential

  • Experience in quality assurance within any lean, engineering, defence, automotive or aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of common ISO standards, especially 9001.
  • Experience with quality sign-off responsibilities
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.

Desirable

  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
  • AS9100, DEF STANs, ITAR controls
  • FAT protocols
