Reed Accountancy are currently assisting an established client in the Horsham area in the recruitment of a dedicated Finance Assistant who is actively studying towards a recognised Accountancy qualification to join their dynamic Finance Team. This role involves supporting day-to-day transactions, month-end activities, and assisting with system migration. The ideal candidate will be adept at delivering accurate and timely financial information and working to tight deadlines.  Reporting to the Finance Team Lead as Finance Assistant you will be responsible for the following:

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Utilise advanced Excel skills to manipulate data effectively.
  • Support the Accounts Payable functions as required.
  • Assist the Finance Team Lead in producing accounts and managing all banking activities, including payments and reconciliations.
  • Help manage accruals and prepayments and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Produce ad-hoc financial reports as needed.
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies, and goals, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Handle telephone calls and emails courteously and professionally.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an Accounts environment.
  • Proficient in using Accounts packages and Excel.
  • Currently studying towards a recognised Accountancy qualification.
  • Excellent ability to adapt to new systems and changing work environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and versatile.
