Plant Fitter required to join a leading Consutrction & Civils company based in their Horsham location.
You will be responsible for the safe & cost-effective repair & maintenance of plant & equipment targeting zero defects. This role will be based out of the Horsham workshop but will be required to attend site breakdowns as required so a full UK driving licence is essential.
Plant Fitter Job Overview
- Carry out designated tasks as instructed by Workshop Manager, dealing with any scheduled repairs as well as unscheduled repairs and checks as they arise.
- Diagnose and apply the relevant mechanical and electrical repairs whilst ensuring compliance with any relevant risk assessments and method statements.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn parts and test equipment to ensure any repairs are adequate.
- Carry out fabrication, welding and gas cutting as required.
- Carry out routine servicing of vehicles, plant and equipment, ensuring service records are completed and maintained.
- Carry out diagnostics of vehicles and equipment both in the workshop and on site.
Plant Fitter Job Requirements
- Full UK driving licence - Essential
- Proven ability in a Plant Engineering / Maintenance role
- Experience updating service documentation
- Experience working to H&S standards and following company policy
- Mechanical OR Electrical NVQ / Qualification is highly desirable
