An established, multi-site manufacturing business with a large production facility in Durham is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their growing team.

This is a key role within the Engineering Department, offering a 50/50 blend of hands-on maintenance and strategic leadership. You'll support the Engineering Manager in driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the plant.

About the Engineering Supervisor Role:

Support the Engineering Manager in leading a team of 6 engineers
Lead by example across both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks
Drive continuous improvement projects to boost equipment performance and reduce downtime
Work closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimise production flow
Ensure PPM schedules are adhered to and compliance standards are maintained
Mentor and support team members to build technical capability and a proactive culture

Ideal Candidate for the Supervisor Role:

Apprentice-trained or formally qualified
in Engineering (mechanical/electrical)
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
Multi-skilled with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding
Capable of basic PLC fault diagnosis
Proven leadership or supervisory experience
Strong communicator and team motivator
