The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced PMLD Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will support students with complex needs, providing personalised care and learning support in a safe, stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with PMLD in all aspects of their education and daily routines.
- Assist in planning and delivering personalised learning activities.
- Implement and monitor individual care plans and learning strategies.
- Facilitate communication and social interaction, using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods where appropriate.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to provide holistic support.
- Promote independence, well-being, and positive behaviour.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to assessment and reporting.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children or adults with PMLD or complex SEN.
- Understanding of strategies to support learning, communication, and sensory needs.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow professional guidance.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEND training) desirable.
