Main Duties:
- Accurate and timely processing of supplier/purchase invoices
- Conduct regular office account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
- Resolve invoice and payment queries
- Maintain the integrity of the office ledger, making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with firm policy and regulatory requirements (SRA & Accounting standards)
- Administer staff expenses
- Support the Head of Finance with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting
- Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
- Flag any potential breaches of SAR to the Head of Finance
- Answer incoming enquiries and queries from colleagues
- Review and manage aged debt
- Provide client ledger cover as needed
- Provide holiday cover for Accounts team colleagues
- Manage Legal Aid payments accurately and timely
- Ensure the office ledger is accurately maintained
- Support timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes
- Ensure all work adheres to internal policy and regulatory requirements
- Cover tasks for Accounts colleagues as needed
Skills Required:
- Experience in a legal finance role, including legal aid payments
- Current knowledge of SAR Accounts Rules and AML compliance
- Familiarity with legal case management systems
- Significant experience in an accounts-based role within a law firm
- Ideally ILFM or AAT qualified, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage a high volume of transactions
- Proficiency in Excel
- Working knowledge of accounting software (Xero is an advantage)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interact with clients and colleagues efficiently and professionally
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team as well as independently
