A Stress Engineer/Analyst plays a crucial role in the Aerospace and Defense industry, ensuring that all products and processes meet the highest quality standards. At Quest Global we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Stress Engineer/Analyst to join our team.
As a Stress Engineer/Analyst, Stress Engineer to work as part of a team on all phases of the project life cycle including design, demonstration, development, production and customer support. As a Stress Engineer you will be responsible for performing stress and structural analyses to ensure the integrity and performance of the design meets all required standards, so a strong mathematical emphasis is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess mechanical design for strength, durability, performance and safety through application of appropriate methodologies i.e., finite element techniques, first principle hand calculations, system analysis, rotor dynamics, etc.
- Identify analysis solutions, recommend improvements and propose alternate methods
- The ability to own problems and provide pragmatic engineering solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative design solutions that meet customer requirements, ensure product integrity and project objectives.
- Support PDR, DDR reviews to provide detail report
- Generate detailed technical reports and documentation to communicate analysis results and recommendations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to support the development and improvement.

- Conduct thorough Analysis and investigations of non-conformance issues, including root cause analysis and failure mode analysis.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve non-conformance issues and improve overall product quality.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- Proficient in Stress Analysis packages (ex : ANSYS, MSC NASTRAN, Altair HyperMesh), ideally ANSYS
- Ability to conduct classical static stress and fatigue analysis and complex hand calculations from first principles
- Experience in the analysis of complex engineering structures
- Proficient knowledge of numerical (finite element) techniques for static analysis
- Experience in structural Analysis of mechanical components, parts, assemblies and subassemblies for heavy industry, power transmission systems, gear and Gear box
- Appreciation for bolted join calculation, noise and vibration, Gear, Bearing and shaft design calculations and analysis
- Candidate should be familiar with structural analysis practices and methodologies, including significant structural redesigns.
- Knowledge of materials and processing techniques
- Knowledge of gearbox design: shafts, bearings and gearcases. This includes associated technologies such as rotor dynamics, tribology, bearings, thermal response, noise and vibration
- Knowledge of structural analysis techniques, including fatigue analysis to the level required for component certification by outside bodies
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or a related field.
- 5 plus years of experience in a similar role within the Aerospace and/or Marine industry.
- Experience in heavy engineering industry, power transmission systems, gears and gear box
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, AGMA, DIN, FKM, DNV )
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
