Sub Agent - Rail Project | Tier 1 Contractor | North East

Candidate Requirements:

As the Sub Agent on site, you'll be at the heart of operations, making sure everything runs smoothly. You'll:

  • Lead and manage subcontractors and site engineers

  • Oversee quality, inspections, and health & safety compliance

  • Tackle technical queries head-on and keep the site moving

  • Coordinate procurement and material orders

  • Prepare weekly rolling programmes to keep the project on track

  • Support and mentor site engineers

  • Drive site productivity and report progress to senior management



Candidate Responsibilities:

You'll bring energy, expertise, and a proven track record in rail and civil engineering. Ideally, you have:

  • Experience on major rail or civil projects (station works a big plus!)

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

  • A CSCS card

  • CITB TWC (Temporary Works Coordinator) - great if you have it, but not essential

  • Strong leadership skills and the confidence to work independently

  • Immediate availability to hit the ground running
